Looking for players who want to play EiA with Third Party Combat results in certain & controlled situations
Must have an idea how to play EiA. Not necessarily need to play the Third Party Combat.
The EiA Campaign will go one game year, for... example from 1805 to 1806. Most of the Diplomacy will be skipped.
Need 3 players one to play France, one person to play as Great Britian Prussia, and the 3rd player Austria Russia, Spain and Turkey will be AI players. Of course the more the merrier, but we need at least 3 players who can play EiA to get a start. We have 2 already just need one more player as a EiA Player. Does this sounds like fun to you?

The Third Party Combat software is

See the video
Now of course not every battle will be fought this way, only those that meet a certain criteria.
HWLG battles will be played by players as Army wing commanders or Corps

We have discovered an Aussie made software which will give us a intermediate part between the EiA map Area and Battlefield. There is no umpire required.
Its a Wargame Campaign Manager that operates 20 units per side with full supply rules, with Economy Rules, Recon Reports given as random percentages, you can easily establish your own units spies, transports, contact ranges can be varied.

For example in EiA if French forces move into Leipzig, we are able to duplicate this map area
Friday, March 23, 2012Campaign Map 906 20.13.jpg

This area can be quickly made up using BMP files like this.
Leipzig Scenariojpg.jpg

The map is a little rough but this is to give some idea. The Leipzig area covers about 7 to 10 days of Movement. So there is a lot of manouvering to happen in these maps. There is also revenue and ownership points to help establish the winner of the Third Party Combat.
Leipzig Campaign Revenue.jpg
Leipzig Campaign Ownership.jpg

The above figures are a at start position for French (blue) and Allies (red) before movement commences

This will prove to be a lot of fun

Remember that using a third party combat system gives the ability to defeat an army on the battle field and not rely on the EIA combat system which can be abstract and limited in its way of deciding a battle.

Napoleon, in any game, is formidable, but by using the third party system it is conceivable that the French can be defeated by attacking one of his lieutenants, this is the strategy used by the coalition later in the wars, 1813/1814. Even though Napoleon may win a battle in one place the French could lose two elsewhere.

In playing EIA, you play the head of state, others fight the battles and you receive the results to continue.

The method will be like this
1 Player involvement in EiA Grand Strategic moves, as Heads of State.
2 Grand Strategic Moves where there are battles, will be then moved to operational level, using Campaign Manager until contact is made of the regional area. By players who are either CiC for there respective Army, or wing Commanders
3 When a HWLG battle ensues then the results will be translated back, where as many Players will be involved in multiplay battles, and the results transferred back to Grand Strategic Level.
Any odds that are 6 to 1 or higher mostly will be fought as a EiA PC Combat battle. Depending on defender options.
The process is simple enough, and quick, and ongoing.

Hi Mauron
To get Histwar les Grognards go here and download it online http://www.histwargames.com/boutique/en/
Also our HWLG Tird Party Combat Campaign Forum here in Histwar,http://www.histwar.org/forum/index.php/board,118.0.html
What level are you interested in
Level of involvment Campaign Running NOW! but players can be involved at anytime.
1. Heads of State level: (PBEM)
Minimum 2 max 7 Must own a copy of Empires in Arms Napoleonic Wars.
Time commitment and the return of files within 24 hours after the previous player has submitted their turn PBEM, when you have a handle on the strategy,of the Game it only takes 5 minutes to submit your turn.
2. Operational Level: (PBEM)
Army Commanders as outlined by HoS can be same, as HoS. Or CoS (Cheif of Staff)
Maximum of 2 Players one per Major Power at Operational Army level per Major Power ie Great Britian, France, Russia Austria, Prussia Spain Turkey in order.
When Operations start there is a 24hour file exchange by PBEM and should only take about 10 minutes
3. Battlefield Commander (TCP/IP)
To be available when battle occur, and to keep in touch with the Campaign progress, and to resolve the current battle to be finalised, this can be in anytime zone when time suits.
Maximum 1 - 2 days per week

Players will take time & level that suits them, there is little or no umpire involvement. The game sysytem does not depend on a lot of players to start and keep running, we can start small, or it can expain very quickly. Obviously the more the merrier.
But the campaign will be running for at least a year probably 18 months, so if you would like to be involved please introduce yourself, and tell us about yourself a little, so we can get some comradery going here

Hi All,
As introduction i'd say that i'm spanish, 31 years old. I like history in general and and militar history in particular. I've played rol games since 10 and a long time ago I played EiA board games, not very often and we never finished a game but still liked very much. Now I'm playing a board game with friends and PC game of EiA by my own waiting to find some to PBEM because the AI is much more artifical than intelligent :)

About the level of game, I think I prefer to start only in the head of state level. I still dont have the HWLG game and I dont have a good internet connection (i think this is important in battlefield commander level). Maybe the operational level, but I dont now well what software I need and how to use it.

Gazfun said something about playing with austria or russia... I think I prefer playing with russia, big army and only one frontier makes easier the game for a newbie even if I like very much the asutrian army.

See you!
